How To Whitelist our Online Proofing Email Address Print E-mail

If you advertise in one of the Impact Directories and you are not receiving an email in your inbox from Impact Directories in regards to you ad or listing proofs, check you Junk mail or Spam filters. Unfortunately "Spam Filters" can be a bit of a bother, filtering out e-mail you want to receive and allowing e-mail to get through you don't want to receive.

Here are some easy ways to guarentee you receive our email when it is your time to proof.

Yahoo!

To make sure Impact's email is delivered to your Yahoo Inbox (not the Bulk Mail folder), simply instruct Yahoo to filter it to your Inbox. Here's how:

  • First open your Yahoo e-mail box. On the right hand side of your screen you will see "Mail Options." Left click on this. In the right hand column, under Management left click on "Filters." Then left click on "Add Filter."
  • Since this filter concerns receiving mail from Impact, you can call this filter "Impact." I suggest you type this in as the filter name.
  • Underneath the heading "if all of the following rules are true ..." go to the top row labeled "From header." Next to this you will see drop down menu. Make sure to select "contains." Then simply type in This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
  • At the bottom, where it says "Move the message to:" simply select Inbox from the pull-down menu. Then left click on the "Add Filter" button at the bottom and you

Environmental Facts About Impact Yellow Pages Print E-mail

We Care Too

Enviromental Logo for Yellow Page Publishers

At Impact Directories, we strive to be responsible stewards of the environment. That's why we use recycled content, sawmill waste, soy-based inks, and water soluble glues in the production of our directories.

Soy-Based Inks

We use only the safest inks in the printing of Impact Directories. Soy based inks and non-heavy metal pigments mean the books won't damage the environment if they find their way into the landfills.

Water-Soluble Glues

Water-soluble glues make our books recyclable. The books can be redissovled into the slurry that is made to produce the new paper. This makes the recycling more efficient and profitable.

All of our paper is made from recycled content or saw mill manufacturing waste products

Impact uses only recycled paper and sawmill waste to make the paper we use to produce our phone books. Square boards are cut from round trees. What is left over, branches and other trim waste are chipped up and then turned into pulp to make our paper. If those waste products were put into land fills it would take them years to decompose.

Why does my proof look different than what was printed in the book Print E-mail

Impact Directories supplies proofs for many of it's clients. These proofs are printed on an in-house office printer. The printing process from this in-house office printer from that of the Web Press that creates the directories differs dramatically. The media or paper used for supplying proofs also is different than that of the newsprint used in the directories and color will display differently on both. Based on these uncontrollable variables, color accuracy from our in-house printer to what will be printed in the directory will be impossible to reproduce.

To confront this issue, Impact employs a team of skilled graphic designers who understand these limitations and how the final product will look through experience. Many times these designers will make decisions on how color and type are used on your display ad to help ensure a better overall final product. If color accuracy is a concern for your advertisement, please consult with your sales representative about options to control color accuracy on your final product. One of the best solutions is to choose a swatch of color used in one of the Impact Directories as a reference to the color you might be requesting. The Impact designers will have access to all previous advertisers display ads and can use similar color mixtures on your ad to control color accuracy.

Why is my icon marker on the Impact maps in the wrong place? Print E-mail

All of the Impact Online Directories use the Google Map API for it's mapping functionality. Google supplies an excellent product, but various problems still may exist in it's mapping abilities used on the Impact Online Directory.

  • Does not map my address at all

Your location on the map is derived from Google's data reflecting your street address, city and state. If the Google map is not mapping your location at all, one of these three elements of data are probably not correct or missing. For example, if your address is 123 Lake Shore Dr. and Google has "Lake Shore" spelled as "Lakeshore," you may not be mapping correctly. Many times, part of the address data is missing and only a general location is supplied. An example of this would be "Serving the Treasure Valley" or "Located on the Airforce base." Neither of these are addresses that can be properly mapped by Google.

  • My icon marker is in the wrong location

The source of data Google uses for the maps supplied on the Impact Online Directory is TeleAtlas. If the data that TeleAtlas has supplied is incorrect, your icon will not display in the correct position. Two things can be done to fix this problem on the Impact Online Directory.

    • Call or email Impact with your correct location. We can use this new location to supply our Google Maps with your exact Latitude and Longitude coordinates and force the icon into the right position on our Directories.
    • To speed up the process, you may find your location's latitude and longitude yourself to supply to us using this free service, getlatlon.com. There are many others to choose from, we just find this one easy and to the point.
    • The good people at TeleAtlas have a website dedicated for corrections to their pool of data. This includes new street names and map icon locations for addresses. Once your location has been updated with TeleAtlas, the next time data is sent to Google on your location, your icon will be fix globally with everyone using the Google Map API. Here is the link where you can fix this data: TeleAtlas
