    The Boise Hawks and the Idaho Business Review are teaming up a unique event featuring a sports panel with representatives from the Boise Hawks, Idaho Steelheads and Idaho Stampede.

     

    Please join us to discuss how sports impact a city, sports in Boise , and the possibility of a new multi-purpose sports / event facility in the Treasure Valley .

    Benefit the Nampa Depot Restoration Project while experiencing an evening of wine tasting from  Canyon   County  wineries on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 7 PM Hollywood and Wine at the Depot is set in a Hollywood theme and will take place in the  Nampa   Train   Depot   Museum .  Enjoy a live jazz trio, delicious catered hors d'oeuvres and delightful desserts.  Each participant will also receive a specially designed limited edition Nampa Train Depot wine glass!  Live and silent auctions will be held.   Master of Ceremonies is KIVI-TV Channel 6?s movie critic Bob Richards.  Advanced tickets $30.00 each or $50.00 per couple.  At the door $35 per person. All proceeds from this event benefit the Capital Campaign to restore the Nampa Depot.

    Auction items so far include a "24" package including a framed Kiefer Sutherland autographed picture, a hardbound book on the series, and a collector's item statuette; a 200 year old Native American trading bead necklace; a rare limited edition "Blade Runner" DVD suitcase set; a metal wine glass rack; a "Ghost Rider" statue and director's cut DVD; a rare "Van Helsing" crossbow; a hand made quilt; a "Night at the Depot" dining experience for 6 including dinner, dessert and a rare behind the scenes tour of the Depot; a 12 inch talking "Ironman" Figure; wine baskets and bottles of wine from area wineries; and the first signed and numbered framed "Piece of the Depot" collectors? items with Certificate of Authenticity.

  • West Yellowstone-Old Faithful Cycle Tour 9/25/2010


    The West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the date of the annual fall cycle tour from West Yellowstone to Old Faithful will be September 25, 2010. Up to three hundred and fifty recreational bicyclists will travel the sixty mile route along the Madison and Firehole Rivers. Families, friends, and small groups will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Yellowstone in the fall. Pedal past gurgling geysers, bugling elk, and golden aspen trees for a truly unique national park experience.

    The cycle tour is a supported ride. Shuttles will be available for those who do not wish to ride the entire 60 miles, bicycle mechanics patrol the route and are available to help with flat tires and minor repairs, and two feed stations will be located at Madison Junction and Old Faithful with water and light refreshments.

    The tour wraps up with a group dinner from 4-6pm at the Chamber of Commerce building. September 25th also marks National Public Lands Day and Yellowstone National Park will waive the entrance fee to all cyclists and vehicles that day. The tour is limited to the first 350 riders to register online.
